We talk a lot about planning, preparation, logistics, etc. when it comes to coaching classes. One thing that too frequently gets overlooked in the preparation stages is how to appropriately scale (or not scale) athletes, and how to get a little creative with scaling so that athletes are both progressing and not regularly doing the same thing. What you probably don't realize is that far more athletes have to scale something than don't, and being able to scale correctly is not only better for the athlete, but it creates a level of trust between you and your athletes that's critical to both of your success.
